The 2 Directional prayer.
We are so prone to only dedicate requests and problem to God in prayer, but we never give Him a chance to talk to us. How God speaks to us.
1. Through your conscience and mind, that little voice that warns, it is God who speaks.
2. Through messages, songs and sermons you listen to.
Then what someone gives you becomes just make sure it is from God.
4. Then of course the direct way, when the Holy Spirit dwells in you, God’s Spirit within you, Direct communication between God and you.
5. God speaks through His word to you (The Bible).
Here is the method for ‘Two way prayer!
After talking to God or Jesus in your quiet time, give God and Jesus a chance to talk to you.
In the Old Testament there was always something the people of God wanted to know and They then approached the High Priest to ask it of God, the Lord gave Moses the plan of the Chest bag that Aaron and later the other High Priests carried. In the Chest bag there were the 12 gems that represented the 12 Tribes of Israel but what most churches missed there were two articles that hung on either side of the Chest bag with two chains. At the ends of the chains were boxes carrying a certain stone. The two stones were called the Urim and the thummin.
It was used to determine God’s will. If the people wanted to know something, they asked the High Priest the question and if the priest was in God’s presence he asked God again, questions like we fight the enemies or we pull left or right or we choose who ? God then did not give His answer to the Priest. But one of the two stones glows. the one left or right, left was no and right was yes, or stay or go.
This was then how God spoke to the people after the ascension of Moses to Heaven. Today the Urim and Thummin have been replaced by the Bible. The Urim and thummin were always part of the High Priest’s robe and we read about this in Exodus 28 v 30, and in several other verses in the Bible where it was used for conversation with God or to ask God’s will! Lev. 8 v 8, Deut. 33 v 8-10. 1 Sam. 14 v 41, 1 Sam. 28 v6 and Ezra 2 v 63. And later confirmed in Neh. 7 v 65.
Today we do this in prayer. Like the one model prayer that Jesus taught us. the Our Father. Matt. 6 v 9 says “Thus shall ye pray, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 let your kingdom come; let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven;
11 give us this day our daily bread;
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.
Amen.
How do we determine God’s will in our lives, and how does God speak to us?
Let’s determine it together
But everything must be done in God’s rules and regulations.
1. Of course, this is always done in prayer, by someone who lives according to God’s rules and regulations, Someone who has a relationship with the Trinity. Which begs the question in prayer to God or Jesus or the Holy Spirit! A person without sin and with a pure heart. God will then answer immediately. Key word. “Prayer in sincerity”.
2. Do nothing until God answers, Sit and wait for God’s answer, Here patience is the core fruit. The Key word. “Wait on the Lord”
3. Believe that God will give the right answer. And if you have the answer, carry out the command of God without hesitation. Key word. “Do not believe and do not doubt”
4. Accept God’s answer even if the answer is NO! If you do not follow it, pain, suffering and loss are the order of the day. Key word: “Accept God’s answer”
5. If you have to wait for the answer, do not get discouraged. Jesus’s in Luke 18 v 1. Pray without ceasing. Key word. ” Pray and keep praying until the answer comes ”
6. Do not try to make your own plans, if you have already asked God to answer, wait for the solution of the problem. Also, do not approach anyone else to pray with you. God is working on your request! Just wait on God. Key word “Do not approach anyone else”
7. If God answers, Do not just run with the answer. Thank God or Jesus for every answer! Key word. “Go back and say thank you”
If you use the 7 guidelines, the prayer and answer will be successful!
Use the living word of God that He speaks to you through it. The word of God is inspired by the Holy Spirit and every word is placed in the Author of the Books by the Holy Spirit. And that is why it is known as the word of God. The words of God that can speak to you. God answers through His word. The Bible today’s Urim and Thummin !!!
If you ask God the question, He will answer with 3 scripture passages and each passage will contain 7 verses.
If you ask Jesus. It will also be 3 scripture passages but each passage only 3 verses. And so the Holy Spirit 9 Verses. In that section will be your answers. Ask direct questions, not long drawn out questions. And one question a day. The people of God may have asked only one question a year, for the High Priest may have entered into God’s presence only once a year. It is very special and should not be abused! Also ask for answers such as Yes, no, go, stay, left, right etc. But as you are trained, the Lord also asks to speak to you only if you no longer have questions. After your question you tell God, Jesus or the Holy Spirit you are now going to open the Bible and ask the Holy Spirit the author of the word to guide your hand and where your finger falls and if you open it there where your eye fall, will be the answer. You are going to do this three times, they ask for 3 passages from the bible as confirmation of the question you are asking or in the conversation that the Deity is going to have with you.
Answer one: there where you opened the Bible and your eye fell on the Scripture passage left or right, as the Holy Spirit led you. There will be your first answer. Write down the verse passages in your diary for record plus the question you asked God for reference later, or as evidence.
NB: Take your first scripture passage in the middle of the Bible and then the second in the front half of the Bible (The Old Testament) and your third in the back half of the Bible (the New Testament).
Answer 2: Close the Bible and open it after prayer, ask again that the Holy Spirit should guide your hand and place your eye on the verse passage where your answer is. This time in the Old Testament – first half of the Bible. Here is your second answer or confirmation or conversation from God.
Answer 3: close the Bible again, repeat prayer to the Holy Spirit and then open in the New Testament passage – the Back half of the Bible.
All 3 Scriptures will have the same answer, or fall into the same theme or follow one another. YES or NO. Take it or Leave it, do so or do not do so. Use the word of God as your Urim and thummin to determine the will of God or just that He speaks nicely to you. This is not a new method. Do you remember the old days’ Wheat Grains tickets. And Gideon himself used the method for an answer from God, The membrane and the dew. Judges 6.
Why 3 Scriptures.
The Devil also knows the Bible and he knows the first verse Hi jack but not the second and third. If the first verse does not fit in with the other two, ask the Lord for a 4th and final verse.
Prayer Tips
- Tips for a good prayer life.
If praying does not come effortlessly for you, try these tips for making your prayer life more focused and effective.
For a few hardy prayer warriors, talking with God is as easy as breathing; it happens almost effortlessly. When you ask them how they do it, they simply shrug and reply, “I just pray.” Unfortunately, that’s about as helpful as John McEnroe saying “I just hit the ball,” when asked for some tips on more effective tennis. It may be easy for him to “just hit the ball”, but most of us hackers need a little more fundamental instruction to get the job done. With that in mind, we’ve included here some practical guidelines that might make your time with the Lord more fruitful. Not all of the suggestions will apply to your particular situation, but if you begin by incorporating a few of them, I’m confident your prayer life will improve.
- Choose a specific place.
Choose a place to pray away from distractions so you can concentrate. Ringing phones and crying children will sabotage your “quiet time” before it gets started.
I enjoy walking and talking with Jesus and even pray whilst Im on the toilet or driving in my car.
- Pray at the same time every day, if at all possible.
Make it part of your regular routine and it will become habit. Write it into your schedule and then treat it just like a daily appointment.
- Pray out loud.
Many people can pray under their breath or in their minds for long periods and still maintain intensity, but for most of us it’s a quick ticket to dreamland. When we pray out loud we have to form intelligent sentences. We have to concentrate more on what we’re praying about.
- Keep a note pad handy.
Keep a note pad handy so you can jot down different things that come to mind while you’re before the Lord. Sometimes you’ll get great ideas totally unrelated to what you’ve been praying about. If you jot them down you can quickly get back to the topic at hand without being too distracted.
- Make a list to keep track of your prayer needs.
This can be done several ways. Prayer needs can be listed by category like “Church,” “Family,” or “Unsaved friends.” Or they may be listed by the days of the week. Each day you pray for a different set of needs. You may want to include prayer every day for a different area of society that has a tremendous influence on the direction of our nation. These seven categories include 1) the church and religion, 2) the family and the home, 3) the media, 4) government, 5) education, 6) business and commerce, and 7) the arts and entertainment.
- Keep a prayer journal.
Here are two variations of this idea. The first is to keep track of what you prayed for and when you prayed for it. Leave a space to jot down the answer when it comes. This will help you to keep alert to God’s answer so you can thank Him promptly. Sometimes prayer answers come in the back door and you don’t want them to slip by you. The second variation is to write the entire prayer in your journal. Make it a personal letter to the Lord on a daily basis. Just write “Dear Lord”
Pray sincerely.
Pray the sinner’s prayer of repentance, Lord I confess that I am a sinner and fall short to enter your glorious Kingdom. Forgive all my sins and set me free from religion confessed and unconfessed sins. Give me a heart of forgiveness and protect me under your blood. From now on I will follow you and make you the Lord of my life in Jesus Name. When you ask Jesus Christ to save you, then accept God’s plan for your real life. Rom 10 :9-13 is very relevant.
Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Rom 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Rom 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
